I am looking here quickly this afternoon between waiting on various folks to contact me regarding questions. I was thinking that I had been doing a better job with posting on a more regular basis. I think I had been doing a pretty good job until mid to late last week.
As is oft the case with my wonderful job as director of information technology I was going in about four different directions as of Tuesday of last week, all four of which felt they were more important than anything else that was getting attention. That does not take into account the 100′s of little things that are done day-to-day to keep things up and running or that are low priority but do need some attention at some point.
So, as I got busier and busier with work, I utilized the save function to give a title to future blog post, make a note or two of the general thought I had, and not publish. It worked well, as I had five such posts by late Tuesday. I managed to get one of them finished and published. I made notes for a couple of more.
Over the long weekend I was traveling out-of-town. My thought was here and there, when checking email or some such, plenty of stolen moments would be found to knock out at least three or four more post and keep things kind of on track and updated. Two things disrupted the plan.
The weekend was wonderful, enjoyable to the extreme. There were a few moments here and there that could have been had, but mostly it was a very busy weekend too. This would have, by itself, certainly still been workable.
The second disruptor though was more problematic. As I had left the house last week, I thought of grabbing one of three power supplies for the two nearly identical laptops I use. And I thought to myself, no, I want the one that is sitting on the table in the conference room at the office (it has a more pure current and avoid the screen flicker that sometimes happens with the generic replacement one I have at home). Then I got so busy when trying to get of the office on Friday afternoon, I forgot to grab the power supply.

So… I ended up several hours away before thinking about having forgotten such. I had been using the laptop with a power cord and may have on a lucky day with minimum drive access had one or possibly getting close to two hours battery life and three days where I could need the laptop to VPN into the office to fix something. I decided to hold off do much in the way of posting until sometime this week as a better option.
Hopefully though, the postings have come along in a more regular fashion of late (hence the title improvement – let me know what you think). Further, after getting caught back up on some rest this eve, I will maybe follow through and just wow everyone with the number of rapid fire blog posts that roll off here in the following few days. I just have to ignore the fact that it is a short work week and I need a long one to even think about getting caught back up, after all, which is more important? Do NOT answer that.
