Observations & Comments

Grocery ListI have not done one of these in a while, but as most of you all know I am prone to doing these on occasion. Just kind of status update about myself, about the blog, and just some general short comments about various things. Here we go, and of course in my favorite format for this, an un-ordered list (that is a technical way of saying in no particular order by the way).

  • I used to go to the gym some back when I was college and started again a little bit after I got divorced, but did not keep it up. I have renewed that interest and I am loving it. And I am seeing results mostly to, excepting weekends when I tend to binge (both food and drink) a little bit. Though that gives me some extra incentive to work on it the following week.
  • Blog traffic does have a correlation to the regularity of posting. It is good to know. I think that also means that posting about my blog postings on sites like Facebook and MySpace are helping to let you know when there is something worthwhile to read here.
  • I am back on track, in case you have not noticed already, with posting more regularly. If the whole month of October continues like the last 3-4 days it will easily be the busiest month ever here at Mephistos. That is a good thing, as I feel like I have set more than a few goals in the past that I have not met in regards to posting more often here. Again, as I have noted so often, I have plenty I want to say/post about which I am sure comes as no surprise to anyone that knows me.
  • For those that may be in the know – I have the miniature horses. I have sold half of them officially as of today. Am I sad to see them go? Yes. But on the other hand, it was never really my thing so much and I really can not justify keeping them through another winter both financially and time investment as well.
  • I have noticed that someone uses my page to go to another blog page very consistently – will not mention the page. I do find it odd though as the blog link has been hit at least every other day, if not daily this past week – and the blog it goes to has had only one post in the last two months. It does make me a wonder a bit – is it one person doing it multiple times or just a quirk that everyone hit that outgoing link? And does this make you feel like big brother is watching? Sorry, it is the nature of my job and I sometimes just notice things that are unusual.
  • And speaking of which – I saw the movie Eagle Eye this weekend. It is pretty good, but does have some issues. Expect a review post later this eve/morning or on the morrow.
  • And since I am giving sneak peaks, a post about the logic of 700 billion as a bailout package is coming up soon as well.
  • What is the deal with women liking men that are sweaty from physical exertion – not to that stinky funk, but just a slight bit? I have run into that at least three times over the last couple of weeks and I am thinking I must have missed something.
  • If you have not checked it out, a friends blog that is awesomely funny can be found at lifetwinkles.org. Be sure and check out about what movie night invites mean. And speaking of which, what does it mean if a girl gets in the back seat of the car with you, when a DD is driving and the front seat is open? Yeah, me too, but I was wrong and that was more than a while ago – but I would take that one to mean more than a movie invite – read the blog – it will make sense then.
  • I have realized that I am constantly telling everyone that I have no true artistic talent and that I may be lying when i say such. I even go so far as to say my artistic talent is the ability to appreciate art. I agree that I can not write poetry, I am certainly not a painter or drawer (though occasionally I can sketch an idea) and musically I am worse than not being able to carry a note in a bucket. However, I once loved acting and all things theatre. I think that is part of why doing the jousting and such appeals to me so much, I get to dress up, be the star, and almost always have a speaking role (which ad-lib is perfectly suited to it as well).

As usual, I get to the end of the list and it seems like there were at least two, maybe three more that should have been up there. I will reserve the right to add more if and when I think of them.

** I admit the grocery image above has nothing to do with this post, but I was looking for an image to convey an un-ordered list and when I saw that I knew it was the one for this post despite the lack of true any true relationship to what I am actually saying. Besides, it is the perfect example of an un-ordered list and wouldn’t I just love to be able to make a list of such beauty for such a simple thing? **

Yep - for better or worse the whole site is mine. I do this for fun for the part or therapy in some cases when I just have to get something off my chest. So Molly leaves me wondering but I think I could make an educated guess. I am glad you like, thanks for the comment, and welcome...

ray, i am just now catching on that this is YOU. i think i have gotten here a few times from facebook, but hadn't made the connection...duh. so this whole site is yours?? gee, aren't i observant? so you work and do this for fun? that's great! i'll stay tuned for sure!

'Zactly. Also, I think it has to do with the fact that a sweaty gentleman smells, well, like himself. Not fancy colognes or other scents that tend to "cover up" the real person. In the animal kingdom, scents are really important - many animals use scent to determine how healthy a potential mate is....same with us. Sweaty is healthy. And may require a shower, which may lead to, ummm, fun. ;) Good, clean fun. If the shower is big enough....save water, shower with a friend!

I think the sweaty guy thing has to do with pheromones coupled with the fact that men who exert themselves enough to sweat usually are getting things done. Men who do that are inherently sexy. (Just my humble opinion.)
