Random Thoughts

#77 at Tombstone JunctionI started this several days back and for whatever reason I did not get it finished. I did make a few notes about the rest of my random thoughts and thought I would put those here quickly and go with it. Those of who read here on a regular basis know that I am not too much on putting together random thoughts, but some of these just seemed to be begging to get out now without becoming a full enough thought for a blog entry. Besides, I have over fifty drafts here in WordPress and several more between my note card book and a file stored on my desktop (keep coming back the rest of this month, but really be looking for November in regards to those posts by the way). And of course, my favorite, a list is so appropriate for this kind of thought process.

  • Interruption – I recall now the interruption of my original writing of this. I had finished my budget for the office and was sleepless. A friend from the office messaged me and asked if I was awake. Tech-Support at 2:30 in the morning and later I took him some dinner – now that is some kind of information technology support office is it not?
  • Willie Nelson – Listening to Willie and being a bit wistful in my thoughts, Poncho and Lefty after all are missed, especially Poncho, but save a prayer or two for Lefty too.
  • Pandora – Interestingly enough, as I revise and finish this I am listening to some country music from Pandora based on Whiskey Lullaby. I know that song is sad, but I really do love it. And for the record, most of the songs that are similar to that one, according to Pandora’s criteria at least, are not so sad in nature.
  • Tombstone Junction – Does anyone from around here recall that place? I was looking for something else on the internet (as I usually do when I find something that distracts me otherwise) and came across a link to some history of the place. I thought it sounded familiar and had to check it out. Of course I had been there when I was a kid. Old west town with full size steam locomotives and of course the greatest country music lineups Though which of course that was when I was too cool for country music. Anyway, sometime or another, in addition to a few others, I am pretty sure this is where I saw Johnny Cash live, which I count as an awesome experience.
  • Carmex – So I know that this is an odd thing, but it is starting to be cool and often dry outside, especially at 3:00am in the morning. That leads to chapped lips, which I can not stand. So I always have some Carmex lip balm stuff around. Kind of odd to think on this in so much depth, but I do stuff like this. I know that Burt’s Beeswax stuff is all natural and a very green product, not to mention they package that stuff in super thin plastic to make even less of an impact. But I just can not break with my Carmex – I like it! I like the way it works and feels. So… I guess I will have to live with it, besides the three packs I purchased two years back are all still around and have some in them – so I guess that is green enough.
  • Turn, Turn, Turn – I know that song is based on biblical scripture, almost verbatim. I wonder how many of the rest of the world realize that? Anyone have thoughts as to what it means? It was a brief discussion that was had earlier today (today was several days ago now).
  • Bourbon – why is that when I am out I see everyone order a bourbon and fill in the blank, but usually coke, immediately followed with a called out top shelf bourbon? I don’t get it, really. I admit that there are lots of differences in bourbons and straight up you can tell a lot about those differences. Mixed with something though it ceases to matter that much from a premium to a well bourbon, so why bother to spend the extra? Maybe I am missing something myself, but as for me, if I am having the top shelf stuff I want it untainted so I can enjoy it for what it is meant to be.
  • Ciecie Tytoniu – apparently means tobacco cutting in some language, I am guessing Slavic in nature. I have that translation option on my blog these days and I have been getting a lot of hits to my tobacco cutting pictorial from last year based on that search term. I really think most are searching for tobacco cutting equipment and processes for the cured product prior to smoking, but perhaps a few are looking for what I was giving them. I love when I find little things like that tidbit hidden in the stats on the back-end. I am curious how that is pronounced though. Oh yeah, sometimes I see it with a funky e with a squiggle coming down such as what you see on a g in some fonts (or maybe a reversed of the y in this one).
  • Cradle – The cradle was robbed. Sometimes being a little cryptic and mysterious is the best way to leave things. I will clarify though that I do not mean I went out with less than twenty year old or something similar to that.

I like how you called my 20 minute diatribe on turn, turn, turn and it's possible link to astorolgy a brief discussion. :)

Hey, sweetie...you can offset the Cradle thing by applying the Carmex in the best way possible. Apply it to the lips of some young, nubile beautiful thing, then have HER apply it to you..... Hugs, though. Maybe you need to come north and hit people with sticks...it helps with frustration....
