Indigestion, Marriage, & WHAT?
I have a few hundred things I should be doing right now and amongst those was the idea of maybe getting some sleep. Two days in row that around 4:30 or so I have started feeling a bit upset to my stomach and rather wretched. I thought yesterday it was the pizza from the night before – today I suspect poisoning of some nature or another. So, after talking on the phone for a while with Shauna and later filling in a dear friend, followed by some killing time catching up with a PBS show all the while thinking I was near to sleep, I instead find myself rather wide awake and still feeling a bit icky several hours later.
I am sure a few have heard of my intent in the near future, but for those that have not, let me state that I do plan to marry in the very near future. And now, I am most certain that the indigestion is in now way related. I have even put off the poison in fact, as that would not do her any good until after we have had our vows (though in truth, given both the plans of marriage and eventual procreation, I should squarely suspect Bitzer with if she can’t have me, no one can kind of motive).
But yes, I am sure some of you are indeed saying WHAT? Ray? Married? Yes, I admit it fully and with love to Shauna, who is the one. It was made official this weekend past and we intend for April 24th to be the next date of official nature in the relationship. I am sure there will be many more details about that in the near future, but for the moment I am going to put that aside.
Of the many things that I should be doing otherwise (even other than writing this blog and a few other hundred that I am sorely behind on at this point), I should make especial note of the following:
- Getting armour cleaned, repaired and in general ready for Gulf Wars, which is a mere four odd weeks away at this point. Included here should also be the final paperwork and registration, checking off events for participation, making order of some new maile, garb (to include both brais and chausses), as well as a lance or two and a few hundred sundry other items. I also have an arming jack that needs assembly as well as a helm liner and who knows just what all else in such a vein.
- While I have made strides and have the money for the purchase of a horse trailer, the actual location of a suitable one in timely fashion that corresponds with my ability to go get it in conjunction with my schedule seems all but impossible, though I shall endeavor once more on the morrow.
- I still have more than a few edits to complete on a new equestrian handbook that must be done probably yesterday to be honest.
- Somewhere along the way I have allowed the nice pile of miniatures and other clutter to sit unused or touched, but yet it seems to increase in size and height constantly.
- There are also two horses that are in dire need of some exercise and a human body that started in mid January with a good weight loss but has since managed to level off and maybe even going the wrong way both on weight and getting in shape.
And so just what have I been doing with my time, as I am clearly not devoting that time to blogging. Well, there is the search for living quarters in the not far future that has taken some time. I also, have traveled some and because of that I have acquired a couple of new (to me) books including a fascinating Barber edition about Agincourt and concise biography of one of my favorites, Jefferson (more about the two volumes soon enough). But to be completely honest, most of the travel has revolved around the clear desire to see the future and soon to be wife. And given the nature of the passions otherwise put on hold that should be a good indication of the true passion that is involved in the relationship, and in truth, I have merely scratched the surface.
picture is THE RING for those wondering…
