Weekend Plan
Very dull and probably even heading toward boring to the readers of the blog. However, I am looking forward to the weekend at home and I love making a plan, well, at least a list of the things that I am planning to get accomplished. You have to understand that some, the month of October has been the proverbial lion of the last several months and has not had me at home so far this month on a weekend – at least not at home on my time of the weekend.
Do not get me wrong. I loved the long weekend at Peaceful Valley Lake with a big part of my wife’s family, just relaxing and fishing and the weekend after spent at the Royal Harvest event with equestrian and late night chatting around the fire were great. Heck, even putting up fence, less digging the post holes for Jill for her birthday and visiting with my family some was not all that terrible. But I am ready for a weekend at home where I can catch up on some the things that are so far behind, do a few things that are just for me and my pleasure, and in general have some relaxation time while doing it all.
Of course, if you read this blog very often, you know this is going to be in some sort of list and I am to not disappoint, so here the list is – my plans for the weekend:
- Organize the Garage – This one seems like something I am almost always doing, but part of that is because it is in out with the various things that I am doing during a given stretch of time. This weekend it is time to put things away in a more organized fashion and make it so there is room to park the car in the garage and also room for my workshop in the interior end.
- Construct Work Bench – Really the only way I am going to get the garage organized is to get the tools and such organized in the shop area. To facilitate that, for some of the bigger things at least, I am going to need to get that darn work bench constructed. And this time, unlike the last one, it will be built so that it can be disassembled fairly easily. Of course, it is also going to be in the garage – so like it matter much.
- Clean out Garage – Yeah, there are still things that need to go. Mostly at this point is a few plastic tubs of horse take in various states. Some new, some old, some in need of repair and some good to use – but what is not being used and what is not an immediate backup needs to go. Additionally, there are some scrap metal bits that need to be taken in for recycling and at least two computers that should be upstairs in office. And yes, for those wondering cleaning out is different than organizing!
- Fishing Rod Holders – I started a project a long time back to get the fishing rods all neatly put away somewhere and have not finished it as of yet. I need to get that little project finished up. While I am at it, the two tackle boxes need to be finished with the consolidation into the one newer box that I like more anyway.
- Blogging – Kind of goes without saying, but I need to get busy with the blogging. I mean it is the month I plan to get a blog in on a daily basis here and at least every three to four days on most of the other blogs I have. Doing well here, but need to get busy on the others. Not for a lack of material mind you – just need to spend the time getting it down on the proverbial computer screen/paper.
- Blog Work – Hard to give an exact list, but I know of some editing that needs to be finished on Mephistos and some pretty good ideas regarding layouts that need to be implementing on the others. I am sure there are a few things that I have not thought of there – and I know of a couple that I have not mentioned if I get completely bored. Oh – and there is that one new blog that I should figure out what I was going to register and get going.
- Clean out Office – You knew it was coming. There are a few things up here that belong downstairs in the basement and a few more that I am not sure where they should actually be and yet even more that should be dropped off somewhere or something like that.  Oh, and it just occurs to me that several books belong downstairs – though bookshelves are another story.
- Organize Office – Difference still in play. But once the stuff is cleaned out the organization needs to happen. There have been some strides in the past, but I tend to get bogged down in sorting through the clean out stuff and then it all gets shoved back against the wall. Hoping to get it out this weekend or least to some sort of manageable this weekend.
- Finish Desk – I started covering this desk about three weeks ago in white – to match the black and white motive here in the office. It is still 1/3 covered. After that is done, I need to consider the little cabinets and if I want to do them or chuck them. Anyway, once the desk is done, the second computer can actually be set up here permanently – that would be the one that has not been on in a three or four months. I will use it if it is here – enough to make it worthwhile to have it here.
- Power Center – I have the power strips you can turn on and off each outlet. I think it is handing for things like phone and camera charging. Have it on when in charging and off other wise. Can also run the computers through the second one. Speaking of which, I think that really needs a shelf on the wall, something simple, plain. I will have to look more sometime tomorrow evening for what I have in mind.
- Christmas Wish List – I have been told I need more stuff on my very short list for people to choose from and I need to make sure that some people have the list available to them once I do so. I will get to that sometime over the weekend as well. Reminds me of my whole love of lists and where it probably originates. The Montgomery Wards and Sears catalogs used to be something my brother and I would scour for days coming up with our Christmas wish lists.
