Daily Post

Manual TypewriterI had pondered doing something of the nature of a daily post challenge for 2011 for some time. I know, as usual I have a lot to say on a wide and varied subject matter. I also know when I have taking up the monthly challenges of posting daily that I have generally been very successful in getting what I have to say out there, whither not anyone reads it of course is completely another matter. So it was with some extra motivation that I decided to accept that challenge when I saw that WordPress.com was doing something of that nature for 2011.

Granted, it is WordPress.com and not the fully installed and self hosted version that I have on my various blogs that comes from WordPress.org, but the challenge still stands. I will not fully capture the potential extra traffic that those from the .com site are apt to have from that site in general, but by having a post every day I am sure, just as traffic jumps every month I do all days, it will do the same for all of 2011.

It goes further then just the post daily challenge though, as they also have a post weekly challenge that will be running as well. I plan to take the challenge up for the other blogs, which fits in with my intent announced in November of doing at least weekly posts on all those blogs.

Now for those wondering, yes, I did plan to do something similar to that during the month of December. However, I admit that I got a bit behind coming out of the Thanksgiving holiday and just kept getting distracted with the then upcoming Christmas and New Year celebrations. I am good to be back on track now and will hit the ground proverbially running. I also have the plan of writing up a few extra things ahead of time regarding vacations and holidays so I will continue to hit daily without ever missing and hence falling behind.

Oh – I almost completely forgot on this same subject.  There is a site called ultimateblogchallenge that is doing much the same kind of thing.  They are however promoting it on a monthly basis.  I am not 100% sure that they are doing it every month, but it looks like they may.  Sign up and tweet your post with the tag of #blogboost.  Idea is that participants will read those tags, though at least a little while ago it was really busy.

If you are interested in participating yourself, head on over to dailypost.wordpress.com for details and sign-up. Looking forward to seeing all the bloggers I know participate.
