What an awesome cool idea this little concept of IComLeavWe is. Okay, the name is a little odd and it is probably not what some of my friends are thinking, so a little clarification. It is indeed International Comment Leaving Week. The concept, apparently similarly NaBloPoMo started as a week in a given month. It now runs every month with specific cycle and range of dates and you can find more information over at what is a pretty interesting, but mostly topical blog called Stirrup Queens. That is another name that is not at all what I am sure a few of you are thinking and probably deserves some explanation as well, but I have to think through that one a bit.
Historically I have attempted to participate in the NaBloPoMo idea on a few occasions. Apparently that website, along with the owner, are in some sort of transition. I know this, because I monthly reminder about the subscribing to the next month and so on… Anyway, the most recent couple of emails have had information about this on going change that is going to move things forward. Somewhere in there, I think there was a bit of note from Melissa Ford, the lady who is taking on some of this changing going forward. Anyway, somewhere in there was mention of a couple of her other projects, including her blog named Stirrup Queens.
My mind, odd as it is, immediately thought, she must ride horses as well. Might be something I could find interesting and I should check that out. I clicked and the first post, which left me wonder if there were going to be horses, was talking about the comment leaving project and I followed it through reading and found it to be a good idea and decided that maybe I should give it a try.
Still wonder about the horses, I went to a second entry, which was talking about some quirky apartment the author had in college, but it had a good read to it and further I found bits of humor in it. Maybe even a bit of myself, consider a few of the places I have lived. Anyway, I am still not completely sure about the meaning of Stirrup Queens, just as I am sure most are unsure of my Mephistos. The topics are multi-themed and very varied in topic – really almost all over the place. Though I finally did get a bit of a theme with fertility/infertility and procreation of offspring. Something that is a bit of an interest to me, so more reading to follow.
And where I am heading with this rambling blog? I am not sure, the comment concept rocks. Something in which I am going to participate but also something I may follow the example of with my own variant. The blog itself has some interesting things that are deserving of a comment and I will probably follow-up on that tomorrow when I am little bit more coherent and something I should be now as I am writing this post.
