A bit of a new plan is in order, especially since of late I have had a little bit of lack of motivation in regards to blogging. To be fair though, work has had some killer days on a few occasions and there have been some horse and family times/issues as well. And of course there is the simple fact that I have twice composed a blog and had it in the final editing stages when, for whatever unknown reasons, I have lost all or most of the entry. That of course makes for a flat line on the creativity and especially motivation graph.
I really have no idea why the former two attempts at a blog have blown up in a such a majestic and tragic way. First thought would be that maybe I had a glitch with my internet connection that caused the failure. Such a thought comes to mind especially since when composing in WordPress the editor is saving a copy of it up on the web in the database at the time of composition. Of course, I have my doubts about such as this being the case at this point. After all, I currently have the biggest pipe I have had to my house and while the nature of it means the pipe is not a guarantee, the odd off hours of previous composition make the chances slimmer. All other factors (computers, browsers, routers) would be different.
So, the new plan for the short-term is compose in a local tool and then do a copy/paste operation into the WordPress editor, keeping the local copy until everything is good to go and it is either scheduled or published. Bonus achieved by doing this one small extra step does give the opportunity for an additional review by the tools that are available in Open Office (this is one place where the actual Microsoft Word really kicks it and takes names, but alas, no license for me for such products). There are some language/grammar checking tools in Open Office though and of course there is the extra layer of spell checking. Hopefully it will result in a group of slightly above my average posts.
A second part of the plan is to of course get back to a more regular posting schedule. I am not sure how that is going to work, especially looking forward and how some things are shaping up on my schedule, but we will give it a big effort. A big part of me really wants to get back to daily posts, at least during the week I know I have a personal goal of cutting down on my television watching time so that should go a good ways toward it (and it is especially easy to do when we hit this time of year where the seasons are starting to end and I am left with only a couple of shows that are generally fairly short). Of course, there is a boat project in flux and lots of plans for a few fishing trips too, so we will just have to see how things work out going forward, but at least there is a plan to get back on track.
