Going Green

I spent sometime early this morning catching up on some blogs that I have not managed to visit much lately for one reason or another. As I was reading through several suggestions and ideas from a couple of the sites in regards to moving toward a more green idea or way of doing things I came across a couple of things with which I have issue or just a point to make. Some of the so-called big green ideas really are not so green beyond the casual surface level view of things.

Seven Deadly Sins

I think I checked off four of the seven deadly sins over the weekend, and maybe I hit a fifth when I was trying to make amends for some of the previous four.

Green: Bike Ride

Picked up a used (for free on the curb) bike. Not a bad ride, feeling pretty good about the green aspect, but the bike ride is bothering my knee.

Absurd Recycling

Temporarily living in Lexington, where they have a strong recycling program. However, as I walk around getting some exercise I see some really astounding usage of things in recycling methods.
