My Personnel Story

Snow, Snowpocolypse, Snowmagedon, SOMG!

Get the idea about snow being the subject? I got a dirty little secret about the snow. Well, not so much secret as I am telling everyone here and really not all that dirty though I think a few people will not like it. I am more than a little disappointed that Central Kentucky is missing out on the big horrible snow of the season and likely to be the one of the decade and maybe even for a couple of score of years. Yeah, you heard me right, dismayed that it is missing us. I am sure some are thinking, “Are you kidding?” I mean, have we not had enough snow already this winter?

BBS Days Recalled

Got to thinking about things the other day and gave a few thoughts back to the computer day prior to the big kickoff of the internet revolution in the mid 1990′s. Not sure how many of you were around doing computer things in what the version of online prior to the boom, but it was largely systems called Bulletin Board Systems. It was with fond memories I skipped down that lane from that time period in the late 80′s on into the early 90′s. I still count among some of best friends those that were made in that time period and though we have perhaps not kept up with each other as much as we should have, we still occasionally correspond in some way.

LinkedIn & Accused Murderer

An interesting thing happened just a little bit ago. As I was casually watching the new and having a conversation with my wife, they announced that a certain person was now being charged with murder in the death of his wife. That is not the interesting part mind you, however the fact that the accused was someone I once worked with for sometime was. In fact, this particular person was often a colleague who joined in lunch outings and after hours drinks at local pubs. It has been a while since the person and I have had a conversation, both of us having moved on to different companies and such, though we have run into each other a couple of times at least over the years. However, the thing that caught my attention the most was the fact we are tier one connections on LinkedIn

Bookstore Nostalgia

A few weeks back I was in a couple of my favorite bookstores doing a little bit of browsing and not much buying. While I was walking through the two stores I could not help but be drawn into a couple of the sections and reminded of somethings from the past that I have kind of left behind. A couple of those things that I came across, I have to admit, definitely label me as the geek type way back when, though I admit I have no problem with that aspect of things. Just a bit of warning for you though, I am probably going to sound really geeky in talking about the various subjects, which range from gaming, miniatures, reading fantasy, and just sitting in a bookstore browsing a possible purchase over a cup of coffee.

Top Ten…2009

What are my top ten moments and/or experiences for the year of 2009? Here they are in the list, hopefully I have even gotten them in order counting them down from ten to the number one best thing to have occurred this year. Enjoy my thoughts and such…
