But time has moved by rather rapidly and after being there almost two years with much consideration the wife and I decided a move was in order for us. With more consideration, we settled on the idea of moving to Lexington. For me that almost seems like a full circle has been completed.

The New Year and with it the typical planning for a fresher start, or at least the determination to stick with some plans made for the coming year is rapidly approaching. I have, realized over that it has been just over a month since my last post here, so I am first and foremost jumping back into my plan to post on a daily basis. I will say, that for once - aside from the week I took off from the blog after Thanksgiving, I really have been that busy with projects, both work related and personal, over the last thirty or so days. Enough of that though, time to get back to the task at hand, which listing out my ideals that I am determined about for the coming year. So, commence with your pork, corned beef, cabbage, and especially your black eyed peas, pull up a chair... read my resolutions and comment back with your own.

I know, I have had this debate before, but I am still being torn between the idea of which is better - the traditional book, made of paper that is printed on, especially a hard back volume and the e-book reader version that I can get so handily on my Kindle device (or for that matter my iPad, laptop, or even desktop computer). I keep thinking back on all those wonderful years I have had with books, but similarly keep thinking about the pluses of the electronic edition and some of the greener ideas behind it as well. I was especially thinking of this today while watching the Lord of the Rings Trilogy movies this afternoon, based upon probably my favorite books ever, by J.R.R. Tolkien.

During the hours when you are not engaged in employment for someone else you tweet out those things that have interested you or caught your eye. Those include retweet of good links as well as some of those wonderful bits of insightful wisdom. However, you seem to always be behind the curve in attracting followers and readers of your tweets and especially using that traffic to drive additional page views of your site and/or application. You realize that the times you have available to tweet is less than the optimal times for the general web browsing population. What are you to do?

If you are still having a problem, think app as in application, like software and sumo as the big Japanese wrestler type. Now you got the name down, but are still wondering what the heck it is right? Think of it kind of like a Groupon or Daily Deals kind of site for geeks. Actually, take it on step further. Not just geeks, but specifically those of geeks that tend to support computer networks and server or even better develop/write code for them.

Not sure of the exact nature of it, but I have been extremely irritable the last couple of days. I do not really think it is me so much as it is the environment in which I find myself. I thought it worthy of sharing with you all and seeing if it was just me and some needless irrational aggravation on my part or if there really is some justification for my being so easily angered about these minor situations? So, here we go with raffle & giveaways, left-hand turners at stop signs into major traffic, and the truck and trailer who thinks parking in the street at rush hour is their right.

I really hate that too, as it was a nice little gym that is really close to the house and I was planning on using them again this winter if they had a similar offering on a month to month basis as they did late last fall. As of today though I will not however set foot back in there in this lifetime as a paying customer, primarily because of really poor customer service but also just general business practices that I think are in the best light shady.

I have recently discovered something that seems to run counter to what I have been told by most, including a couple of doctors in regards to the subject. This goes back to early summer or late spring, when I picked up a pair of really cheap very flat shoes that are specifically made for boating and other water fun. After having worn them for a day on the water I thought about how comfortable and have worn them (or similar) most of the summer. The amazing thing, my plantar fasciitis seems to have remained mostly in check despite the thought that such shoes would cause it to flare up out of control almost immediately.

Nah, I got the blues tonight and in what is, I am sure, a spiral deeper into such things, I have compounded the matter with a bit of bourbon. Well, okay, a bit is probably in most folks accounting of such things an understatement. So what does any of this have to do with horses? Well, that is what this entry is about and relates to so many things included medieval reenacting and jousting, clearly the horses, and coping with having MS in my life, so read onward...
