Willie Nelson

Willie Nelson

Just saw Willie Nelson in concert over the weekend. It was about as one would expect from a legend such as him.

Busted Flat

Busted Flat

So I am mulling over this blog in my head for the last couple of days and I finally have decided to put proverbial pen to ink. I kept trying to think about just exactly how to start this blog and finally it dawned on me, as it is definitely hitting the way I am feeling right about now. “Busted flat in Baton Rouge, headed for the trains, feeling nearly faded as my jeans…” – which we all recognize as the famous opening to Me and Bobby McGee, much more famous because of the version that Janis Joplin did, but in fact it was written by Kris Kristofferson. Oddly enough, while Kris himself did have some short-lived fame, his own musical career was probably eclipsed by his songs being performed by others.

Odd & Ends

Odd & Ends

I have a hundred things to write about for the blog most likely. That is an educated guess of course, but there at least fifty drafts of posts that are in progress or a reminder note. And as if that were not enough, just about everything that I have come across the last twenty-four hours seems to have suggested another post. Some of them, however, are just not enough to make a full post on it’s on merits, so a collection if you well. Some of these by be revisited in the future though.

Small Wants

Small Wants

Following up on the post from yesterday I thought today I would mention some small wants of things that I would like to have. Some of these things are almost kind of random and therefore I am not really sure what category or picture to use at this point. I am also less than sure of where this will go and I am almost certain that I will not recall all of the things I am kind of tossing around in my head at this point. Anyway, without further contemplation on the details, here is the list:

U2 & Momentum

U2 & Momentum

I admit that I am off to a very slow start for 2009. This especially does not bode well for me and 2009, given that one of my resolutions was to try making on average a post every two days and now we are at what – January 7th and I am only just now making the first post of the year. Once again, I could make a ton of excuses. Even more so then usual given things at work and such.

Across the Universe

Across the Universe

I am not sure how I missed this Across the Universe when it was out at the theaters. Actually I am not completely sure it ever made it to a regular run of the mill cinemas or not. Maybe the more artsy ones, but it is truly a shame. A bit of brief checking around suggested that the few people I know who knew about it did not think it was that great. Critically it was mixed at best and financially it grossed roughly half of its budged 45 million to make it. Fortunately, I got to see it and I am of the opposite opinion.
