There are two movie titles that are not apt to be covered in the same review by anyone else in the near future, but here I am doing it. So the reason behind that is I have seen both Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows - Part 2 and Larry Crowne in the last week and half or so. As they are both still fresh on my mind and I really have little say about either I thought why not, lets split the coverage. That is good in another fashion as well, as the blog will balanced with both the good and the bad, as I really liked one of them and the other I am still left wondering why?

I have had in the back of mind for some time about using Picasa as the back end for my photos that were included on my blog. It only makes good sense as I noted just a few days ago, given that I already work up and store all my photos as a backup archive using Picasa. While the NextGen Gallery tool I have been using is great, it has typically meant an extra set of work ups for any photos I had an intention to put to the web. After a few days looking, quite by accident from another blog I have found Shashin (Japanese for photograph) that does all I am looking for with my Picasa pictures. A short list of what features I required that Shashin supports follows:

I am just a little bit late on getting this review up on the site, but it has been a crazy few past weeks at the office. Better late than never, and hey, it is probably still playing at some of the theaters. So the movie is Water for Elephants. The stars are Reese Witherspoon and Robert Pattinson. Yeah, in case you are wondering, it is not really my kind of movie, but I did go see it with my wife. And when I say it is not really my kind of movie, well, that is really saying if it were on during a Saturday afternoon while I was working on something else I might have it on as a background kind of thing. Enough of that, I will get on with the quick little review here. Do be careful, there may be a spoiler or two in the following, so read at your own risk.

I watched the now Academy Award Winning picture Black Swan a couple of weeks back with my wife at the day old releases movie theater. I have kind of put off doing this review as I am still trying to come to conclusions on just how I felt about it. After some thought I have decided that it must, almost as if by default, be considered decent or maybe even good if it is something that has had me thinking this much trying to decide just where I stand on it. That being said though, I will still note that there was a little something that I found disturbing about the movie that I can not seem to really finger.

Went to see Get Low, the movie starring Robert Duvall, this evening with my wife at Lexington Green. I was surprised and happy to find it playing at the $1.00 theater (actually, this one is $1.50 daily and $2.00 on the weekend non-matinee showings, but you get the idea). The movie itself is a low-budget, maybe independent film that came out around July or August to a very light release. Being the cheap skate, I was waiting for the playing at a cheaper venue and my schedule missed it at the Kentucky. I had seen a coming soon back in September at Lexington Green but it never came. Then, when just looking to see what was playing, boom it was there.

The wife and I went to see social network the movie earlier this evening. It was quite an enjoyable movie. It is unfortunately only going to be playing for a very short amount of time in the theaters, as it is already starting to be available on DVD/Blu-Ray and will be available on pay per view very soon. Of course I saw it at the dollar theatre and definitely thought it was worth the price of admission. If you have an opportunity to see it in any of these medians I would highly recommend it but only if you are 'geeky' by myself.

It is with some interest that I note I watched Julia & Julie this moving this morning with my other half. It was kind of odd thing and to be honest I was skeptical, having seen it on once before and having only watched about three minutes before deciding it was clearly not the movie for me and moving on to something else. However, in retrospect I think I may have erred a bit soon with my hasty judgement. If, on my previous aborted attempt to watch Julia & Julie, I had stuck it out about two more minutes I would have known the movie was actually based on and about a blogging experience. I have to admit, even this time, I was heading out of the room when I was pulled back in about the conversation of writing, blogging, and what subject to use brought me right back

It has been a couple of weeks ago now, but the wife and myself went to see the movie not to long ago. It was something both of were looking forward too and I especially so as it was going to be my wife's first exposure to the Kentucky Theater in downtown Lexington. It was kind of special also in that is where the movie Secretariat made its world-wide debut. In regards to the experience, including the movie I will give it over all thumbs up. When it comes to the movie specifically I am still debating in some regards with myself. I am sure that deserves and even requires some explanation.

That is a reference to the subtitle of Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps, the not so very recent movie that was (and is) billed as the sequel the much earlier Wall Street movie made in 1987. I fully admit to being a bit late in getting to see this one, but then again there is something grand about only paying a dollar to see something that just the week before would have cost me seven or eight greenbacks. I definitely recall seeing the original back in the late 1980's, though I can't put my finger on the definite setting.

There are six movies that have recently come out that I think should be on just about anyone's list of have to see movies (it started as eight - but that is why I am making a list) I had been keeping a running list in my head of what they are, but have in the process let one of the titles slip out of my head. I have also managed to let two of these movies completely finish their run without having caught them at the theater, though I personally do not think they are the kind of movie that will suffer much from being seen on the less expensive small screen in the living room. Anyway, that all being considered, I thought I should make a few quick notes of the titles. I thought it would give me a perfect opportunity to speculate and comment as to why I think they are such need to see films.
