Yesterday I received an email indicating that an advertising agency named PAKBB that was purportedly a world-wide representative of several international brands had interesting in placing ads on this very blog site for a French based designer company named Lacoste. The email went on to say what kind of says banners they were interested in placing, that locations would be required on all pages, and that Lacoste specifically deals in apparel, perfumes, and designer footwear. My initial thought was this is pretty cool, a little bit more money to help pay the way for the blog, but…
In the last couple weeks Apple has released the newest version of OS X, this one being called Lion. I suppose, technically counting this is the eighth version under the OS X banner and is numbered 10.7. Seems to me it should have likely occurred back in spring with the Mac computers seeing a refresh, but that is another story all together. Welcome to Tech Friday
It has been a long time since I have really made any mention of Pandora Radio here on Mephistos. Be sure though that the lack of mention does not mean that I have not been using it. In fact, with all the extra options for the user of the wonderful technology I regularly max on the free account. Clearly, with all the great new options it is more than past time to revisit the product. For those that are not aware of the product, a brief synopsis is in order. It is a streaming internet based radio that will work on a genre or you can seed the music with a specific artist or even a single song. The great thing is the database of music information (via the Music Genome Project) they have that finds similar music to present to you on the stream.
Thought I would spend a little time for my Tech-Friday to talk about Google+, or Google Plus if you will. It has been around for just a couple of weeks at this point and is booming already. Last count I heard (sometime last week) had the user base at over ten million already. Granted, that is nothing compared to Facebook’s user base at this point, but consider is still beta and only open to users who have been invited. It is clearly growing by leaps and bounds. Add to that the “+1″ tool that clearly moves right into the Google+ system and you are already seeing the system all over the internet today. As if the clear boom growth is not reason enough to get involved with Google+ at this point, here are three big reasons why I think you should consider jumping onto the Google+ bandwagon.

DISQUS Comment System
By Ray on July 30th, 2011
Anyone out there using the DISQUS comment system on there WordPress based blog? I have been debating it for a little while and seeing it more often all the time on various blogs and even other sites. It has some nice features but I am wondering if there is catch that would leave me regretting the choice later. Also, in some limited testing I did a little while ago, it seemed that some of the integration was a bit lacking, wondering if that was just my limited testing or exposure of something I failed to set up. Thinking of plunging into it with my blogs but would like to hear experiences first.
