Je suis Charlie

Je suis CharlieJe suis Charlie.  I am Charlie.  While I am not to the level that the satirical magazine in France is, I certainly take my shots and political figures and even on occasion those of religious stature as well.  I want nothing to show my support for this sad situation and that for which it stands.

So when you get right down to it the same protections that are offered under French law that allow such a satirical magazine to not only exist, but to flourish are similar to our 1st amendment here in the USA.  That is what allows me, despite not being to the same level, to have this blog and say what I want, about who I want, when I want to say.

When you get right down to it, that is the opposite of what the hardcore fundamentalists that push for jihad (on the Muslim side of things least-way) want.  They want a society that is under their control from top to bottom.  And apparently, like so many others, twist a religious belief, despite what it actually says in doctrine, to suit their own agenda.

Long live the revolution!

Let freedom ring!

Je suis Charlie!

  1. It’s so sad when people become so rigid that they can’t allow anyone to be different from themselves. What’s even scarier is that in the interest of being politically correct, people are speaking out about their beliefs and opinions even less and less. Or doing things like not putting up Christmas trees in public places because it might offend someone who is not Christian. Really? Can’t we all just get along?
